Digital Camera Magazine
It came as a surprise. I received from the UK's Digital Camera magazine's editor asking for a high resolution copy of my Golden Gate Bridge photo as they want to featured it on their "Hot Shots" readers showcase section on the upcoming July issue. I really have no idea where did this come from, and for a sec, I actually thought "Is it a scam or something?" Well, at least they didn't ask me to wire some funding to them first! =P And I have no idea that it actually is that "big" of a print! A double page full page print showcase! =) The Digital Camera magazine is one of a few magazine that I actually subscribed (via Zinio for my iPad), and enjoyed reading it a lot! I would highly recommended to anyone who want to learn more of photography technique! The magazine should be out in the UK for a week already, and for most subscriber around the world already. But here in the States, our bookstores usually is a month or two behind (as usual for most oversea magazine). Also view the original size if you want to read my description on this shot! After winning the DK competition back in June, Laura went out and bought me dozens of magazines in an attempt to get me to submit and enter as many competitions/contributions as humanely possible. Once again to my great delight (and genuine surprise) one of my shots has been published. This time in the monthly photo magazine, "Digital Camera". When flicking urgently through the pages during my lunch break I got a double surprise on discovering that it was selected as the Hotshots picture of month. Yeeeha :) Big thanks to the folks at Digital Camera for selecting my shot! Polaroid PDC 3000 - Digital Camera
Alright, being one of the early adopters, I got this Polaroid PDC 3000 when it first came out. This is a 1MP camera but I think it offered some of the best digital shots I've ever taken. I think this camera came out after the Apple Quicktake cameras came out. The bad part, I can't find my cd of images taken with this great camera. It also was a battery hungry monster that would drain 4AA batteries before you knew it. The lens on the camera is F2.8 lens at 11MM which is 38MM equiv. Shot in Nikon CLS mode. SB 800 to camera left with diffuser attached at 1/4 power in manual mode and SB600s were set at 1/1 power in manual mode. One SB600 to Camera right used as bounce flash and one SB600 to camera left lighting back wall.
